The National Institute for Climate Education (NICE) invites applications to the position of Assistant Video Producer for the Fall 2019 semester. The Assistant Video Producers will take the lead in developing, producing, and editing one or two short videos with mentorship from NICE faculty at UC Berkeley and assistance from a professional video production company. The Assistant Video Producers will also gain experience assisting the production company in the production and editing of additional NICE videos. The videos to be produced will serve NICE's mission of communicating basic facts of climate science and climate solutions to the public.
Each Assistant Video Producer (AVP) will receive a $4000 stipend and will have expenses reimbursed up to $1000 to cover expenses incurred (e.g., for travel, equipment, and software). The AVPs will work with faculty at UC Berkeley to shape the content of the videos, and will receive technical support and guidance from a professional video production company. NICE will retain copyright of the produced works to ensure widespread distribution, consistent with its mission of communicating basic climate facts to the public.
To apply, email a CV and a 1-page cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org. The cover letter should describe any past experience developing, producing, and editing video. UC Berkeley graduate students and undergraduates are particularly encouraged to apply, although all applications from members of the UC Berkeley community will be considered. Applications are due September 15, 2019. Questions can be directed to email@example.com.
